It is the first week of January in the New Year 2005. Our Christmas decorations are still curiously smiling at us. They are usually long gone and boxed up by now. The temperature outside feels like late fall or early spring. And, just a couple of weeks ago, thousands of unsuspecting people were swept out to sea as an ocean earthquake and a big wave changed whole nations in just a few minutes. Nothing seems to make any sense.
Is it the end of the age? Are we in the “last days”? Are these the times Jesus told his disciples about… “wars and rumors of wars, nations rising up against nations, famines and earthquakes?” Matthew 24:6-7 Honestly, not being a scholar of end time events, I personally don’t know for sure. But this I do know – there is another wave coming that is about to change all of our lives.
Reporter Ted Kercher, wrote an eye witness account of the recent Tsunami that hit Asia. “At about 10 a.m. Sunday, the Andaman Sea, a body of water connected with the Indian Ocean, simply left the beach resort of Patong on Phukey Island, Thailand.” He goes on to describe the guests’ reactions to the now extended beach and the disappearance of the sea. While they were contemplating what could cause the sea to disappear, the earthquake rumblings that had seemed to swallow up the sea suddenly exploded a huge 30 to 40 foot wave upon the shore, changing lives and landscapes in an instant.
Now listen – can you hear it? There is a rumbling in the unseen ocean of heaven. There is a movement going on that we don’t see, just yet. But soon – I am thinking any moment now – soon, there is going to come from heaven such a wave of the Father’s glory that many lives will be changed for ever. I am seeing signs, wonders and miracles in that wave; the blind see, the deaf hear, the Kingdom of God is manifested in people. “Suddenly” lost loved ones are saved, the sick are healed, the poor are provided for and restoration of every kind crests over our lives.
It is the heart of the Father to come and wash over us with this wave of His Presence that will astonish us – that will change the whole way we look at life. Are you ready? Do you know how to get ready? I don’t know, but this is my prayer, maybe you want to make it yours….. “Father, do what is needed to get me ready. I don’t want to be sleeping. I want to be wide awake to Your voice and to what You are about to do in the earth AND I want to be a part of it!!!”
This is one wave we don’t want to run from. Oh, some will, because it will offend their concepts of what the “church” is supposed to look like. But, for those of us who have been staring out upon a dried up beach of hopeless situations, lost dreams, unfulfilled prophesies, and forgotten visions, this wave of glory and power will be the refreshing we have been waiting for!
Get Ready – the Father’s love is about to burst over you to carry you to places in Him you have longed to go! Don’t try to figure out how it will happen, or what it will look like. Just purpose in your heart to be ready to flow with the Spirit of God…… even if nothing seems to make sense!
