I was sitting quietly before the Lord this morning, inquiring of Him. Randy and I are in a season of needing wisdom and clear direction. I have learned that I cannot make myself hear the voice of the Lord. However, I can position myself in an attitude of humility, love, and worship. That is, after all, what really matters.
In that place of desperateness for Him, I experienced His loving presence surrounding me again. I know His touch. I am His sheep; I know His voice. In His presence I pondered upon questions in my heart, and heard my thoughts go in a different direction. For several minutes, I listened to my mind and my heart declaring a litany of faith. As a Catholic girl years ago, I would often pray the Apostle’s Creed. That prayer was resplendent with “I believes”. My declarations this morning had that same sound of determined faith.
I invite you to step into my heart today as I share these statements of faith with you. Think also about King David at Ziklag. (1 Samuel 30) When David and his army returned from battle, they discovered that their families were captured and all their possessions were destroyed. David’s men wanted his head! Nevertheless, David “encouraged himself in the Lord” vs6 KJV – or in the NIV it says.. ”But, David found strength in the Lord His God.” At times, we may feel that all is lost. Don’t you think it is a good idea that we too find strength in the Lord and in the promises of His Word?
Come and declare with me some of what I know to be true about the nature of God.
I believe my Father God loves me
I believe He really did send Jesus to redeem me
I believe that I was redeemed with the Precious blood of Jesus
I believe that no weapon formed against me can prosper
I believe that my Father’s love has been poured into my heart
I believe that all things do work together for good for me because I love God
I believe that my sin and my shame has been covered by the blood of Jesus
I believe that Love covers me; and when I fall and He picks me up
I believe that I am blessed in my comings and goings
I believe that abundant life is mine
I believe that no evil shall befall me, and that no plaque shall come near my
dwelling as I abide in the shelter of the most High
I believe that the years that the locust have eaten will be restored
I believe in Divine health and Diving healing
I believe God gives us the power to gain wealth that we might establish
His Covenant in the earth
I believe Jesus is my Lord, my King, and my soon-coming Bridegroom
I believe His peace overrides anything that I can’t understand.
I believe the Holy Spirit leads me into all truth and will show me things to come
I believe in the Word of God and its ability to reveal to me the plans and
purposes of God for my life.
