We get a lot of company in the summer up here on our West Virginia “mansion on a hilltop”. So, I am always in preparing mode. I love it! All the little touches; fruit in the bowl, flowers on the bed stand, fresh linens, home made tea… provide great excitement for me as I try to make everything “ready” for our guests.

What a constant state of excitement Jesus must be in as He has been spending centuries now preparing a place for us! He can hardly wait to return and take us to His Father’s Kingdom! The table is even set! Don’t you feel it in the spirit? As we look at Bible prophecy being fulfilled right before our eyes we can hear the Master saying, “Get Ready!”

The neat thing about going to the Place the Lord has for us is that we won’t have to pack or bring anything with us! Randy is going to love that! After years of traveling, I still don’t have the concept of “pack light” under my belt!

I am not sure what that place is going to look like. Choo Thomas, in her book Heaven is So Real, describes a series of heavenly visions where she actually saw mansions, lands, and homes of all types.

The only “vision” I have had of the “place” that’s prepared was one of the Father’s heart. It was huge and inviting. It had lots of pockets in it. Each pocket had a person’s name written on it; yours, mine, every person who ever was or who ever will be. I heard the Father say that indeed there was a special place in His heart for all of His children. However, when any of them refused His love and His way, Jesus, to His heart, that place would stay empty for all eternity. No one, absolutely no one, can take your place!

When I spend time preparing for a guest and something happens and that guest doesn’t end up coming I am saddened. IMAGINE the sorrow of the Father’s heart when an invited child refuses to come “home”. Hope you know His love today and are waiting and watching for His coming to take you to that special place prepared by Jesus, the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE!
