Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.
An 18th century writer and philosopher of his day once declared, "in 100 years this book will be forgotten and eliminated." The "book" was the Bible, and the man was Voltaire. Amazingly, 100 years later, to the day, his home became the headquarters for the Geneva Bible society, a Bible distribution ministry. Does God have a sense of humor?
Over the years many have scoffed at the words of the Bible. Today with so many translations and variations many wonder how there can be validity to this Book. I am not a debater, never have been. I am not even a theologian. Yet, from my place of simple faith, I want to tell you that any day that I read the words of Jesus and other words in the Bible, I am touched in my spirit by His presence and His love.
When Jesus said, My words will never pass away, he knew He had come as the Word of God fulfilled in the flesh. He is the resurrection and the life. There is no death in Jesus, and there is no death in His Word. The Bible has survived the centuries because it is alive! It speaks to hearts. Why don't you pick up your Bible today. Pray for the Holy Spirit to touch your heart with His truth. He is still speaking to the child who is willing to hear.
