A Lamp and A Light

Psalms 119:105 Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

Jesus is the Word of God made flesh. When we read God's Word we are connecting with the Lord in wonderful ways! We experience the Heart of the Father and His nature is revealed. His presence overshadows us and His life is conceived in us! Jesus said, "My words are Spirit and life."

Yet there is more! When we read and embrace the Word of God it becomes a lamp to our feet. Yes, God's Word shows us exactly where we are! The Holy Spirit will use the Word of God to correct us, to encourage us, and to reveal to us where we are standing. Is the lamp of the Lord letting us see the sin in our life? What about the doubt or unbelief? Is that being uncovered? Where am I in my Christian walk?

Then, the Word also serves as a light to our path. God's Word will show us where we are going. Proverbs 14:12 says, "There is a way which seems right to a man, but in the end thereof are the ways of death." That is not where we want to go! The path the Father has planned for us is fully lit! He doesn't want us stumbling through life. He is a good Daddy and He has made a way through Jesus, the light of the world, the Word made flesh, for us to see the path of life and to choose life each day.

Let's spend time daily allowing the Word of God to show us where we are and where we are heading. We have a destiny in the Lord and it is discovered in His Word.

Let's Pray: Father, today I desire for Your Word to reveal to me where I really am in my relationship with you. Please let me see the place you desire for me to live and the path of light you have for me to walk. Holy Spirit please lead me into Truth, in Jesus' name, amen.
