Just Be Real!



Be real, oh for goodness sake, be real. Be who you are when you come to the Lord. If you are empty and tired, sick and afraid, lonely and lost, just let Him know. He is already aware of everything about you. Why try to kid Him. The Lord is ever merciful and just, kind and loving, and simply desires our gut level honesty with Him.



One day Jesus was walking down a street and a woman who was dying heard He was in town. She pressed through the crowds, blood flowing from her, and said, "what the heck, (or something like that) I don't care what any one else thinks, I am going to touch Jesus even if it is only the hem of his robe." And so she did. And so she was miraculously healed. There was nothing pretentious in what this woman did. The reality was she needed to be healed. Matthew 9:20-22


Some people got wind of this miracle and later on it seems like people every where pressed in to touch the master's hem. (Matt. 14: 34-36) They were just like people today who make a prayer model out of a one time miraculous event. I know they were all healed. But, I wonder how much fun it would have been for Jesus if they all had come up with their own approach to Him? (Just me thinking out loud)



So what ever you need is, wherever you are in your relationship with Jesus - and I know that can ebb and flow like the ocean tide at times - just be real. Reach out to Him from right where you are. Angry, hurt, sick, afraid, disappointed, frustrated; tell Him. It is not like He hasn't heard it before, but He so longs for you to come to Him. He never tires of listening to your voice. And when you have poured out your complaint - wrung out the garment of your life, simply thank Him by faith for listening and I promise you something wonderful will happen in your heart. And, in time, the circumstances will change! I know by experience this is true!
